Metal welding process

Metal welding processing, this topic should be discussed separately, or more specifically. Here we need to divide metals into steel and copper and aluminum. Why so much? Because the characteristics of these two types of metal welding are very different. Of course, there are many other materials, such as galvanized materials, which are not listed here because they are relatively rare.

First of all, let's talk about the welding of steel. This type of welding is relatively simple compared to copper and aluminum materials. There are also many welding methods, such as laser welding, argon arc welding, electric welding, and secondary welding. Generally, those with low welding requirements, such as stainless steel doors and windows, use electric welding and secondary welding, and those with certain requirements for welding will use argon arc welding and laser welding. TIG welding can weld relatively thick materials, and the welding firmness is high, but the heat affected zone is large, and if the thickness of the material is not thick, it is easy to deform. The heat-affected zone of laser welding is much smaller, and now high-end equipment can also weld materials with a thickness of several millimeters and penetrate. The disadvantage is that the price of high-power equipment is very high.

The other type is copper-aluminum welding. The use of copper is relatively small. The reason is that copper products are expensive and heavy, so they are not suitable for products, unless they are products that must use copper. . Compared with copper, aluminum is more widely used, because aluminum is light in weight and beautiful in appearance. It is very suitable for making some high-end products. Now it is more and more widely used. Here we mainly talk about the welding of aluminum.

Aluminum is also divided into die-cast aluminum and pure aluminum. When die-casting aluminum is welded, due to the large amount of impurities, pores are prone to occur in welding, especially when high-power continuous welding is performed, but cracks are not easy to appear. The welding of pure aluminum is quite different from that of die-casting aluminum. If the welding of pure aluminum does not add welding wire, whether it is argon arc welding or laser welding, it is prone to a problem, that is, hot cracks. This is the characteristic of the material. At present, there is no particularly good way to avoid it. The reflectivity is particularly high. If it is not handled properly, it is easy to damage the machine during laser welding. At present, the better method is to use welding wire. If the welding wire is added, hot cracks can be avoided.
